I do way too much websurfing. Since I feel like listing these in the order I use them, but I'm too lazy to figure it out correctly, I'll post them in a random, somewhat correct, entirely incohesive order. Have fun.
News
- MacInTouch is the number one Mac news site. It's also boring as hell.
- Mac News Network is a hell of a lot better. Multiple updates a day, more depth than MacInTouch, more personality, and a kickass spin-off rumors site: AppleInsider.
- MacResource is weird: better than MacInTouch, but kinda stiff. Still, a lot of software updates you don't see elsewhere.
- MacOSRumors really sucks. They never have any real insider info, and they always hold back anything they get, but, still, they're fun.
- O'Grady's PowerPage used to be a kickass PowerBook news/rumor site, but it's winding down now, with Jobs keeping such a tight lid on Apple's plans...
- Slashdot shows I pay attention to things other than Macs. Namely, Linux ;> This site rocks.
- Freshmeat is the Linux equivalent of Version Tracker, and shows how kickass the Linux software community is. Every day of the week you see updates to software people actually use.
- Bob Cringely's Column is in this list since I don't know where else to put it. Every Thursday, this guy shares his views on what's happening in the tech industry. He's got so much insight it scares me. Even if he lies about being a Stanford professor and having a Ph.D.
Mac Stuff
- Pure Mac is a really kickass software site. It's the best. And I know Pristine, who runs it =).
- Shadow IRC is a truly kickass IRC client for MacOS, with plugins and other fun shit, which I know the developer of, and try to write plugins for, and which I do the website of, and...
- UnderMac's Homepage is another site I do, this one for #macintosh on Undernet, an IRC channel I'm an op on. (The link's going to be dead for a bit longer)
Wanna know something kinda pathetic? I typed all the links previously without looking them up--no, damnit, don't check, or you'll see they're all top or second level URLs.
- The World's Best Software is a kickass old Ihnatko column from the now-defunct MacUser magazine, about the software that is almost like protected memory for MacOS: Macsbug.
Friends
Most of my friends are too damned lazy to do homepages, so there isn't much here...
- Here's the homepage of John Bafford, the author of ShadowIRC, Shadowbot, ICMP Logger, and SavePad =), who I consider a friend.
- Kev's new homepage is kinda spartan, but has such a kickass domain.
- Tsvika has a useless page too. Well, I lie. Supposedly he got some web design jobs from it, but otherwise it's useless. ;P
- Of course, the person who should really do a homepage because it'd look really kickass and stuff is Ash, but what's the chance of that happening when he can just do a whole bunch of commercial sites?
- Mar, on the other hand, has a pretty damn kewl homepage. Including, of course, the infamous Penis Page and Transgender Photo Archives....
Eventually I'll put more here, but I feel like finishing enough of this to put it up and say I have a website, so I'm leaving it at this for now
